IMOVE

MOVE is a combined maths and health educational program, suitable for students aged 10–13. The twofold goal is to develop students’ understanding of how movement is part of everyday life, as well as enhance their understanding of applied statistics. IMOVE is easily manageable in two weeks. The students must count their steps with step counters during school hours for one week. Then they will work with their own figures as statistical data material during maths lessons in the following week. They will reflect on, among other things, their own movement patterns, their class’s patterns, and the significance of the school day’s structure. Research has shown that participation in IMOVE can support the students’ ability to apply health knowledge to their own lives and reflect critically about health and physical activity. It is advisable to read through the teacher’s guide and examine the assignments before starting.
