Brand Name Food List

The Brand Name Food List (BNFL) is a tool to help British Columbians choose prepackaged food and beverages that meet the nutrition standards for schools and public buildings. The BNFL scores food and beverages based on the Guidelines for Food and Beverage Sales in BC Schools and the Nutritional Guidelines for Vending Machines in BC Public Buildings.

This list was created by popular demand! BC school food providors and vendors in BC public buildings told us that they wanted easy access to an up-to-date list of specific products, rated according to the BC government guidelines. They said, “tell us what to stock and we’ll do it!” And so the Brand Name Food List website came to be!
